Manilla Road is a traditional metal band from Wichita, Kansas. Their "epic" sound was a big influence on later American power metal bands.

I downloaded Crystal Logic at the urging of one of my friends last week, and I have to say that I was really impressed. The vocals are weird, but actually pretty cool once you get used to them.

I've heard nothing but good things about Manilla Road on UM.

Maybe I should check them out.

That's where I heard about them yeah.

I'm not sure if you would like them, but definitely check them out.
I have heard Crystal Logic, and though I don't play it often, I think it's incredible. Nothing bad to say about these guys honestly. Awesome stuff.
Bump for awesomeness. Seriously, guys, listen to Manilla Road.
I've tried to get into this band over the years. I just can't get past the vocalist.
After listening to Crystal Logic four or five times, the vocals didn't really bother me. In fact, he's now one of my favorite vocalists.
Yeah I remember at one point several years ago reading an article in Metal Maniacs or Terrorizer about them. I think it was celebrating the CD reissues. It said how many bands considered them an inspiration, and all this major praise. I didn't ever remember hearing them in their heyday, but after all these glowing reviews from whatever mag it was I was more then curious. I bought one of their CD's, I think it was crystal logic. I tried to get into it even just for the music. And on that level they're ok. But with those vocals I just don't understand the worship.

Obviously they appeal to a lot of people so that's great for them, and their fans.
