EVILE are a truly exciting bunch of thashers who have been around for a while. And they're British, to boot. Wink

Evile have just announced the upcoming release of their latest album, due out on Sep. 21. It's gonna be an anxious, aching wait, for me, for sure. The new album is called Infected Nations. I've known Evile frontman, Matt Drake, for close to 2 years now, from one of the extreme metal boards that I frequently post in. He has informed us all on that forum about the band's plans surrounding the release of this new album. Evile have the next couple of months all booked with live gigs and concerts, all over the map.

Here goes:

Evile - Infected Nations (tracklist):-

Infected Nation
Now Demolition
Nosophoros
Genocide
Plague To End All Plagues
Devoid Of Thought
Time No More
Metamorphosis
Hundred Wrathful Deities

EVILE frontman MATT DRAKE comments on INFECTED NATIONS:

"We can't wait for everyone to hear our new album, when we did Enter the Grave two years ago it was made up of songs we had been playing for a few years and some written in the excitement of actually getting to record an album, we were happy to just be making noise but since then we've learnt a few things and we're more interested in making music. Evile fans can expect to hear a more mature offering, an album that concentrates on all aspects of what each member can do; it's a heck of a lot more focused, more satisfying and we're really proud of what we've achieved with it. Russ Russell has helped us to push ourselves to the next level and pull us out of the '80s. The whole retro thing has been cool but we feel it's time for us to leave that behind and stand up for ourselves and show people what we can really do, but fear not, it IS a thrash metal album, it is a 2009 thrash metal album, and we're dying to blow your minds with it."

INFECTED NATIONS was produced by RUSS RUSSELL (NAPALM DEATH), with the cover art created by MICHAEL WHELAN, famous for his sci-fi artworks along with classic album covers from such bands as SEPULTURA and OBITUARY

EVILE lead guitarist OL DRAKE comments on getting WHELAN involved:

"When we were thinking about artists we could approach for the album's art, we went through many ideas and avenues. One day I was listening to 'Beneath the Remains' by Sepultura, and whilst looking at the artwork, I thought how much that simple yet detailed art really compliments the music. I thought "How good would it be to get Michael Whelan to do an original piece?". I think Matt said something like "Haha yeah, like that'll happen", so as you do, I contacted his manager and got in touch with him. It turned out he was really interested in the concept of the art and jumped right on board. I think an album's art is just as important as the music on the disc, so I couldn't be happier with it. Can't wait to see it on vinyl (with a backpatch maybe?).

"It's such an honour to have a legendary, outstanding artist work with us on a brand new original piece, when just months previous to it starting, we thought it impossible. Thank you Michael for giving the album even more depth and meaning!"

For the avid thrash freaks here, state your take!
I forgot that Evile was releasing a new album. This will give me something to look forward to after World Painted Blood is released. Should be a good year for thrash.

Yup, I stumbled into this sad shocking news just 3 days ago.

I honestly feel gutted and blue. I've been raving about the coolness of Evile and their latest Infected Nations disc to a lot of metal fans I know and meet, lately.

I've sure lost count of the number of metal heroes that I/we have lost, over the years. Mike's death at 32 (and I'm 33 myself), is not only obviously painfully premature, by any measure, but all the sadder because he was in his musical prime with a band that a lot of us love. Dying on tour, with a new album out, is a sickeningly sad way to go out. Sad RIP Mike! And condolences, prayers and support from this Evile fan to Matt, Oliver, Ben and the rest.

Poor guy. It's a damn shame he died. I can't imagine how the band must feel. My heart goes out to them and to Mike's family.

....INFECTED NATIONS is amazing though. I love it. To me, Evile is the best thrash band I have heard in a very long time.
Yeah, Evile is definitely near the top of this retro-thrash movement. Excellent band.

For anyone who's interested, Evile is going to be touring with Kreator next Spring, so they're definitely not done yet, despite Mike's tragic death.
Yea, I've known the Evile guys pretty well, have always loved their records and shows. The latest, Infected Nations, is top-drawer stuff, too. And oh yes, they're definitely far from being 'done yet'. In fact, they have been advertising for the vacant bass player slot, already interviewing aspirants, and talking of taking their time to officially hire a bassist for the long term, that would be able to genuinely gel with the band's ambitions and expectations. I wish Evile the very best of luck in whatever they do, from here on end.
I candidly feel gutted and blue. I've been agitated about the breach of Evile and their latest Infected Nations disc to a lot of metal admirers I apperceive and meet, lately. I've abiding absent calculation of the amount of metal heroes that I/we accept lost, over the years. Mike's afterlife at 32 (and I'm 33 myself), is not alone acutely acutely premature, by any measure, but all the sadder because he was in his agreeable prime with a bandage that a lot of us love. Dying on tour, with a new anthology out, is a sickeningly sad way to go out. Sad RIP Mike! And condolences, prayers and abutment from this Evile fan to Matt, Oliver, Ben and the rest.
