Warlockgrinder and I have previously discussed at length, the sheer originality and thrilling coolness of the Bay Area Thrash scene of the '80s. Luckily for him, he had actually lived and seen through it, upfront and personal. But while living half a world away, I also later came to learn to love and respect that particular fountainhead of classic thrash metal and the acts and releases that came our way, no matter where we lived in the world.
Blind Illusion was a classy heavy metal/progressive thrash metal act of the early '80s, with an ever-changing band personnel, whether in the studios, or out live in outdoor gigs/touring shows etc...From '83-'86, Blind Illusion put out three or four quality demos that got plenty of attention and praise from fans, before debuting with the phenomenally good (and only full-length) record, The Sane Asylum, in 1988. I remember also hearing another demo of '89 or '90, called Psychedelic Symphony, which I found very impressive, too. I reckon they had officially disbanded after these efforts, only to resurface only very recently with rumours rife about them possibly planning to put out an all-new record, in the near future. I don't have much info on that, though. I guess those cool early demos won't be easy to land anymore, but you guys might wanna check out (and perhaps even really like) The Sane Asylum, a true classic in the annals of Bay Area Thrash.
