Dark Funeral were one of my earliest exposures to black metal, and remains one of my few strong favourites within the genre. I've bought their albums, watched them live, sought and got their autographs and merch, and just been always admiring of their black metal musicianship since 1996 since I first stumbled into them, purely by accident----I had gone to buy a Dark Tranquility (I hate that band) for a friend of mine, and instead noticed a Dark Funeral disc, first. I look back and love that piece of luck. Smile I bought DT for him, and DF for myself. Grin

Anyway, to me, Dark Funeral have always been one of the best Swedish metal bands, whether black or death. They have been around since '94 and have so far released a handful of full-lengths, a few EPs, (no demos, incidentally), a live album that I regard very fondly, dvds that I haven't yet watched, and a latest disc this year, Angelus
Exuro pro Eternus, that I have yet to get around to buying.

Excellent representative of Swedish extreme music, my favourite DF discs are their 2001 release, Diabolus Interium, their self-titled debut EP, and the 2004 live album, De Profundis Clamavi Ad Te Domine.. I'll have to buy their latest album, before this year is over and out.

Any bm enthusiasts here like DF as much as I do?

Dark Funeral is one of my favorite bm bands. Really dark, evil stuff.

My favorite is probably the debut, The Secrets of the Black Arts, but I love the first three albums and the EPs.
Their second latest album, Attera Totus Sanctus, was my introduction to the band months ago.

Specifically the song Final Ritual which to this day remains one of my favorite black metal songs. Melodies, lyrics, atmosphere, everything.
Great to see you both being big fans of Dark Funeral. They are definitely in my Top 5 BM favourites. Like I said, I love all their releases I've heard so far. Gotta get the latest one before New Year's Day. Grin And hopefully, I'll get to watch them live, yet again, sometime. Smile
