After drooling over Dark Funeral in my other thread, I thought of introducing yet another excellent Swedish BM act, Funeral Mist. They formed way back in '93, and were basically putting out a couple of quality demos and an excellent EP, Devilry, in 1998, before finally debuting with their first full-length effort, Salvation in 2003. I loved that record, and after being variously disappointed with a majority (though not all) of Swedish death metal, I was wondering if I could find some 'salvation'
in the black metal from Sweden, instead.
So yea, Salvation was a great starting point with this cool bm band, and after yet another long hiatus, leading up to this year, FM released another solid, satisfying studio disc, Marantha. This album seems to have attracted very conflicting fan reviews. I'm somebody that gives the record a good, high grade. I'm guessing that most long-time BM lovers are very likely to enjoy Funeral Mist and indeed 2009's Marantha.
