How do we not have a thread for Accept yet? Amazing traditional metal, and a huge influence on the German extreme metal scene to boot. They've released 11 solid albums, although none since 1996. They also have several live albums that I have yet to hear. Their most acclaimed albums are probably
Restless and Wild and
Balls to the Wall, which also happen to be my favorites.

Hey twins, I started a thread in the Sabbath forums, earlier this year, about Accept. I won't rehash all that I said then, except to say that Accept were one of my earliest heavy metal heroes, and I have their entire discography. My favourites remain their first bunch of albums (the s-t, I'm a Rebel, Breaker, RaW, BttW), though I like their latter releases quite a lot, as well. The only Accept albums that I've never been overly keen about are Russian Roulette and Metal Heart.
Have you ever seen them live, anywhere? Oddly (and sadly) enough, I have not---and what makes it worse is that I've known many fans that testify to the band's breathtaking on-stage awesomeness. Accept is ace; an inspirational, influential and just a unique, special heavy metal act, in its own right.
I have not had the chance to see Accept live, no. If they ever come here, though, I will definitely be in attendance.
Very big fan of the band here. The stuff I like most is the 4 albums between Restless & Russian Roulette. Those last two aren't quite as heavy as the earlier material but I think they're still great albums. I was going to see them back in the day I think with Twisted Sister. But the show was canceled and Udo quit the band soon after that.
I didn't like what I heard with the other singer David Reece in the late 80's. I was just looking at their discography. Any of you guys ever hear the later stuff like Death Row or Predator? I don't think I ever heard that stuff.
Twinsfan, there's a great recording of the band from the Donnington festival in 84. I think thats the best live recording I've heard from them. Don't know about the official releases though. I had a Cassette tape of an EP from 86 called Kaizoku Ban(sp?). It wore out at some point, but I loved it. Not sure but I think the one called Staying a Life might be the same show in it's entirety.
They're back this year with a new singer. I didn't like his voice on the stuff on their myspace page. But we'll see. Maybe the original material will be good.
I'll have to check out that live recording. If I can't see 'em live, then that's the next best thing.
Udo left the band? Man, that sucks. He's got a great voice.
EDIT: Post #666. Fuck yes.
WG, like I said, I have the entire Accept discography, and I'm kind of mixed up about discs like Death Row and Predator. I clearly remember being left feeling bored and underwhelmed by them, initially. And the new singer was one major cause for that. Later, I grew to moderately like them, for what they were---solid enough slabs of heavy rock/metal---rather than for what they no longer were, and could not be: the remarkably original and entertaining era of the early slew of Accept albums. And yes, Udo, love him or mock him, he was the definitive voice and frontman of that great band. That's taking nothing away from the rollicking lead guitars that made Accept such a swell act, from the start.
Accept is awesome. Their stuff without Udo was....not good. But dude-Fast As A Shark!!! That song is so awesome!!! They are waaay too metal.
Blood of the Nations is really awesome, hands down one of my favorite 2010 releases. Definitely my favorite Accept album, along with Restless and Wild.
