Nu-metal is more closely related to rock than metal.

I count it as metal. That being said the only Nu-metal band I still like is Mudvayne.

Korn's first few albums were pretty metal, I guess.

Slipknot is not bad, though I don't really listen to them anymore. Iowa and Vol.3 are decent albums for different reasons, but those albums are hardly nu-metal when you think about it.

I agree with you. Slipknot got me into metal music and I have always felt that people's reactions towards them are very over exaggerated. Joey is a very talented drummer, Corey Taylor has a good voice and both guitarists are very talented when they actually show what they can do. Now if they just got rid of the rest of the assholes they might be decent.

I fucking hate Slipknot because it's commercialized trendy garbage.

Let me guess-you liked them before they got all popular.

Anyone defending Slipknot clearly hasn't listened to their music, if the shit that comes from their instruments can even be called that. And yes, Matt, I agree that a few members are moderately talented. They just aren't using that talent correctly.
