I love a number of Dutch extreme acts, and Sinister is definitely one of them. I discovered them only a few years ago, and when I found I loved their first two discs, I went on to borrow, buy and seriously listen to some of the other subsequent records in later years, as well.

I still rate Sinister's first three albums highest---straight-up, no-mince, all-meat Dutch dm to die for. Their albums over the past ten years have been quite uneven in quality with each record seeming to be part-killer, part-filler, sadly. Still, that's probably just me....and other fans of the band (and future new ones too) might feel differently. I'd always recommend Cross the Styx, Diabolical Summoning and Hate most strongly to new listeners and potential fans.

I have yet to check out their '09 latest 'live' disc, Prophecies Denied?? I owned and somehow lost a cool Sinister dvd of the same title of a few years ago.

Any enthusiast here of this seriously cool Dutch dm act?

I got Cross the Styx a few months ago and was really impressed. Haven't heard their other stuff, though, outside of a few random songs. Are their other albums, especially the rest of those three you mentioned, as good?
Yea, I'd say the first three Sinister discs are all almost equally swell stuff. I can't pick a personal #1 off those three, though I probably, just by a small margin, like Diabolical Summoning best. But I'd say it was 1-2-3 trio of knockout punches by this great band on their first three records. I also rate their 2006 album, Afterburner, highly indeed. I've ordered their '09 live album, Prophecies Denied, a day after I wrote this thread.
I'll try to get Diabolical Summoning and Hate, then. Thanks.
