I got the feeling that I'll be contributing a lot of threads to this section in the future

Anyway, Om is what became of the rhythm section of the disbanded Sleep. Their music is said the be structured a lot like Tibetan monk chants.

I only attained their entire discography today, which is quite short: around 2 hours on 4 albums but damn, what a magical droning 2 hours it truly is. Indeed my kind of d&b Grin

If you liked Dopesmoker then you should definitely check this group out.

I've known about this band for a while, but never listened to them until now. Awesome stuff.
Guitar tone on Variations on a Theme remind me of a didgeridoo. Nice and loose low end.
Actually, it's a bass .v
Bass is a guitar. Pacman
Good find Noli, I had no clue about these guys and they are pretty awesome.
Musically, I liked "On the Mountain at Dawn" better than anything I've heard from God is Good. Really good stuff. But from a mixing standpoint it just seems to fall really short; the distortion on that bass completely sucks the low-end out of the music, and while musically it's awesome, it sorta sounds... flat.

I liked "Thebes" from God is Good a lot also, but it really benefitted from the distortionless, thick, bassy production. Plus the drumming is pretty dandy... really loose, almost Bill Ward-like drum fills all over the place. Slammin'.
If you liked the distortionless sound of "Thebes" then I suggest you check out "At Giza" from Conference of the Birds.

But yeah, I somewhat agree regarding the production. I remember mentions of the Boss ODB3 pedal being a part of his setup, which is quite notorious among TalkBass posters for sounding like garbage but it's not listed among his gear in his wiki page.
