Yet another band that is formed out of the remains of a great doom group.
Ramesses is what became of Tim Bagshaw and Mark Greening, the bassist and drummer of Electric Wizard, respectively, left the aforementioned band. Bagshaw has turned over to filling the guitar duties in this band and bass and vocals are handled by Adam Richardson.
I look at Ramesses as a doom group with somewhat of a blackened sound. Imo, it works pretty well in this context and I definitely like their sound. I've got their EPs We Will Lead You to Glorious Times and Baptism of the Walking Dead and their debut album Misanthropic Alchemy and I must say that they're all pretty damn awesome. I haven't got their latest album (Take the Curse) yet but some doom enthusiasts I know have said that it's their best work to date.
